      At Mt. Pisgah Friday

      Funeral Services for Oscar M Childress, well known Wood County rancher and land owner, who resided in the Pine Mills community, were held at the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Friday afternoon at 3:30 with Rev. T. Williams of Gilmer and Bro. Arthur Dimsdle officiating.

      Mr. Childress died suddenly at a Gladewater hospital Wednesday night. He was born in Red River County in 1888 and had lived in Wood County since he was five years old. Interment was in the Mt. Pisgah cemetery under the direction of the Cain Funeral Home. Pall bearers were D.B. Clonts, C. W. Walls, C. C. Mize, Jack Thompson. Bill Bailey and Arvil Dobbs. He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Otho Smith of Shreveport; two sisters, Mrs. Letha Turner and Mrs. Ozzie Dobbs, both of Mesquite, and 2 grandchildren.
