Notes |
- Evan took his family, along with a cousin DAVID TATE, (Jacob's son), and Davids wife MARTHA, and moved to Tarrant County, Texas. They went by wagon train, led by a Capt.John Penn; Evan bought land in Tarrant County, between Village and Rush Creeks; The resulting community took his name and was called "Tate Springs"; Tate Springs was a small crossroad community,a few miles east of Fort Worth Tx., in southeastern Tarrant County; The land that holds the Tates Springs Cemetary, and Baptist church was donated by Evan Tate. The town still exists, but is a mere scattering of buildings, church and cemetary, and in 1991,was mapped within the limits of Arlington,Texas; [1]
