    • Opal Wallace, age 97, formerly of Burkburnett, entered the gates of Heaven peacefully Sunday, January 29, 2012. The daughter of Crisa and Guy Reagan, Opal was born December 3, 1914, in Corsicana, Texas. She lived her early years in Goree, Bornarton and Seymour, Texas. Before becoming a resident of The Sterling House in Wichita Falls in 2008, Ms. Wallace resided in Burkburnett for 63 years. She lived a good, full life, was rarely ill and enjoyed bragging that she had never needed prescription medicine. She was a Baptist.

      Many will remember Opal as their favorite waitress at Lesterís Hickory Inn, McBride and Mayo Steak Houses in Wichita Falls in the 50s and 60s and at Tinkerís Catfish Inn in the 70s and 80s. After her retirement in 1987, she loved spending time with her great-grandchildren, being outdoors and keeping a neat yard.

      She is preceded in death by two brothers, Lee Moins and George Washington Reagan; five sisters, Bernie Reagan, Georgianna Reagan, Hester Lillard, Clodell Ramey, Jeanette Korneygay; dauther, Peggy Wallace Cozby; granddaughter, Kimberly Dale Cozby; and infant grandson, Kevin Earl Cozby.

      Left to cherish her life and her memory are daughters, Pat Hensley of Wichita Falls and Charlotte Wallace Coffey of Fort Worth; sister, Hattie Lou Bradshaw of Oklahoma City, Okla.; granddaughters, Kari Cozby Brown of Burkburnett, and Kelly Cozby of Fort Worth; grandson, Kyle Hensley and wife Lynn of Lewisville, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Cooper Brown and Kaci Brown of Burkburnett, Hunter J. Hensley of Lewisville; great-great-granddaughter, Kimberly of Burkburnett; as well as several nieces and nephews.

      A private family service will be held Tuesday, January 31, 2012, at Burkburnett Memorial Cemetery at 10 a.m.
