Asa served in the war of 1812. His pension records
say he was a private in the Militia of S. Carolina. He mustered out
at Three Sisters Ferry in S. Carolina 6 March 1815. The petition for
a pension was signed by a P. W. Tate and his wife Elvira Kitchens
Tate of Cass (now Bartow) Co. Georgia. Asa was a blacksmith.
